Job Description Capability Lead - Digital Design and Industrialisation Full Time Bristol (3 days in office) What you will be doing As a Capability Lead you will be accountable for leading a team of 10 to 20 Product Definition, Digital Design Automation, Additive Design, and Composite Design Engineers working primarily on Civil Aerospace, R&T, and UK Defence Programmes. It is an excellent opportunity to add to your people and programme leadership skills and understand how to develop the capability of a team. This will also provide an opportunity to nurture and grow the specific areas of digital design automation, product definition, additive, and composite design capability. You will have an opportunity to shape the capability delivering Digital Transformation across the business and gain an appreciation of Component Design Systems, GD&T, MBD, MBE, Project Nene, Product Lines, and the Digital Thread. Responsibilities To provide technical leadership to the Engineering resource group and ensure compliance to process throughout the life cycle activity. To play an active role in load/capacity planning for the Digital Design and Industrialisation and work with the wider function to ensure suitable and capable people are available to complete programme deliverables. This includes engagement with third parties such as Managed Service Providers in line with agreed Do/Buy strategies. To allocate staff to agreed work packages and lead the delivery and approval of technical activities within their functional accountability. To lead and drive efficiency through process review, teamwork and implementing continuous improvement and operational best practice within the field of work. To lead the digital transformation and work with Senior Specialists to see you team deliver capability development work and programme deliverables supporting Product Definition, Digital Design Automation, Additive, and Composite Design.
