Are you a caring individual who enjoys working with people? Then join our committed community outreach team in Barrow. As a care and support worker you can support adults with mental health needs and learning disabilities to live their best lives. The successful candidate will engage with service users and build trusting, therapeutic relationships.
The role includes visiting service users in their own homes or in other settings and offering practical support to enable them to live independently while also offering emotional support in accordance with their individual support plans. The support role includes helping with daily living tasks such as cooking, appointments, medication and money management.
Responsibilities
* Visit service users in their own homes or other settings and provide practical and emotional support aligned with individual support plans.
* Support adults with mental health needs and learning disabilities to live independently and with dignity.
* Assist with daily living tasks such as cooking, appointments, medication and money management.
* Engage with service users to build trusting, therapeutic relationships.
* Work as part of a flexible rota; lone working and using own initiative are essential.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Being a car driver and car owner (or access to a vehicle) is essential for this role; mileage allowance is paid.
* Ability to lone work and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
