Offer description

Overview

Join to apply for the Junior Pharmacist role at ZAVA.

Location: London, Islington (on-site). Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9am–6pm with lunch break; 40 hours per week; potential for weekend or stagger shifts where required.

About ZAVA

We are building a digital primary healthcare platform to provide accessible and dependable care at a fraction of traditional costs. Our team includes Doctors, Engineers, Customer Support, Marketers, Product Managers, UX Designers, Pharmacists, and Operations specialists working together to provide healthcare that fits patients’ needs and schedules. We operate a mail-order pharmacy in London, dispatching medications and home sampling kits to UK patients, with services delivered at a distance to patients across the UK.

The role

We’re looking for a GPhC registered Pharmacist who is tech-savvy, eager to learn, and interested in how healthcare is evolving digitally. This is not a patient-facing role; all pharmacy services are provided at a distance to UK patients. The role offers opportunities to develop professionally in areas beyond direct face-to-face consultations. The London office in Islington houses the pharmacy and related operations.

This position is suitable for a forward-thinking candidate seeking experience in a start-up environment. It is ideally suited to a relatively newly qualified Pharmacist, but applications from those qualified for longer are welcome.

What you can look forward to

* Carrying out audits and driving process improvements
* In-depth training on GPhC standards as applied to a distance-based pharmacy
* Close collaboration with the clinical team on services
* Exposure to non-clinical colleagues in a cross-functional setting
* Ongoing CPD support and weekly clinical training
* Weekly protected time for self-directed learning
* Team annual social budget

Key Accountabilities

* Working in our mail-order pharmacy: labeling, dispensing and checking medications against digitally signed prescriptions in line with legal, professional, and ethical standards
* Serving as the RP (Registered Pharmacist) and supporting the dispensary with a small team
* Performing clinical checks and final checks on dispensed items to ensure appropriate patient treatment
* Meeting strict daily deadlines to provide timely treatments
* Leading dispensary stock management, including stock levels, expiry checks, supplier liaison, and ensuring proper records (e.g., temperature logs)
* Being the main point of contact for the London Pharmacy and supporting Patient Care and Doctor teams with patient queries
* Leading or contributing to audits, SOP updates, and continuous improvement projects
* Collaborating with Doctor and Customer Service teams to support the online doctor service
* Providing services to patients at a distance; no face-to-face patient contact in this role
* Maintaining consistent presence in the London office and contributing to workplace safety and office tasks as needed

Requirements / Qualifications

* Qualified Pharmacist, fully registered with the GPhC
* Open to newly qualified pharmacists; prior role-specific experience is not required
* Competent with basic IT tools (Google Drive, etc.)
* Solid understanding of UK pharmacy requirements and regulations
* Ability to clinically check prescriptions accurately and efficiently; perform final checks on dispensed items
* Eager to learn and develop a career in digital health
* Patient-focused mindset with a commitment to high-quality care
* Willingness to work as part of a small team and support cross-functional collaboration

Benefits

Benefits from day one (role-dependent):

* 33 days per year pro-rata (inclusive of public/bank holidays) plus birthday off
* Free access to Wellness Cloud, including advice, counselling, and corporate discounts
* Healthcare cashback plan through SimplyHealth
* 20% off ZAVA products and services for you and your friends/family
* Remote, hybrid, and flexible working
* Flexible bank holidays

Additional benefits after probation:

* £500 training budget per year
* Company sabbatical after 2 years
* Opportunity to work from overseas for 2 months each year
* Cash vouchers after 3, 5, and 10 years of service
