An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader to join the North East Bowel Cancer Screening Programme Hub which supports Bowel Cancer Screening Services for a population of 9.1 million.
The role includes administrative, laboratory. mailing and call centre functions, including processing of returned screening samples, acting as first point of contact on the national Freephone helpline, as well as helping in the production of significant quantities of outgoing mail (invitations, reminders, test packs and results) using bespoke software and complex mailroom equipment as part of the call and re-call of the national programme
Main duties of the job
The post holder will assist in maintaining a bowel cancer screening service for an NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme Hub, co-ordinating and supervising activities for administrative, call centre, mailing and laboratory functions. The role includes liaison with all of screening centres to determine capacity and workflow requirements for clinic appointments, processing of returned faecal sample kits, acting as first point of contact on the national Freephone helpline, as well as helping in the production of significant quantities of outgoing mail (invitations, reminders, test packs and results) using bespoke software and complex mailroom equipment as part of the call and re-call of the national programme
The post-holder will work as part of the integrated administrative and laboratory based team, working to meet the national targets and standards set by the NHS Bowel Cancer Screening Programme (NHS BCSP).

* NVQ4 Administration/Office management.

* GCSE Grades A-C to include Mathematics and English and NVQ Level 4 or equivalent experience

* Recent NHS experience.
