Chief Technology Officer (CTO) PropTech Start-Up Location: Hybrid London, UK Type: Permanent | Founding Team Opportunity | Sweat Equity Based Recruitment Partner: 167 Solutions Ltd We are partnering with an early-stage PropTech start-up that is developing a platform to transform how property is owned, managed and experienced. The company is seeking a hands-on Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead its technology strategy, build the core platform and integrate blockchain technology into the property ecosystem. This is a founding leadership position and will initially be offered on a sweat-equity basis, with scope to transition to a salaried role as the company secures funding and scales. Key Responsibilities Define and deliver the technology vision and product roadmap in collaboration with the CEO and founding team. Design and build blockchain-based solutions for property transactions, ownership verification and secure data exchange. Lead the architecture, development and scaling of a modern, cloud-native platform. Own security, data governance and compliance frameworks. Build, mentor and lead a small, high-performing engineering team. Drive innovation through technologies including smart contracts, tokenisation and decentralised ledgers. Collaborate with commercial, product and regulatory teams to deliver secure, scalable features. Essential Experience Proven experience building and scaling technology within a start-up or scale-up environment. Strong hands-on engineering skills, with experience coding, architecting and delivering solutions. Expertise with: Blockchain technologies (e.g. Ethereum, Hyperledger Fabric, smart contracts, tokenisation) Cloud infrastructure (e.g. AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform ) Backend frameworks (e.g. Node.js, Python, Go ) Frontend frameworks (e.g. React, Next.js, Vue.js ) Data security, encryption standards, secure API architecture and GDPR compliance Strong understanding of distributed systems, data privacy and secure infrastructure. Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to work in a lean, fast-moving environment. Experience in PropTech, FinTech or SaaS is advantageous.
