IT Services is responsible for providing, developing and maintaining the University’s central IT infrastructure and for delivering a wide range of technology-based services to staff and students.
We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join us as Depute Chief Information Officer. This is a key senior role within IT Services, supporting the Chief Information Officer in leading the University’s technology services and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, resilient and forward-looking IT provision across the institution.
In this important role, you will provide leadership across the operational functions of IT Services, ensuring services are delivered effectively and aligned to the University’s strategic priorities. You will play a central role in shaping and implementing the University’s ICT Strategy, overseeing major projects and programmes, and driving continuous improvement in service delivery and operational effectiveness.
You will work closely with senior colleagues across the University, contributing to executive-level decision making, and will act on behalf of the CIO as required. The role requires strong leadership capability, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of delivering large-scale technology services in complex environments.
We are looking for someone with substantial senior management experience, strong strategic and operational insight, and the ability to inspire and lead teams to deliver excellent services. Experience of working in a large, complex organisation is essential, and experience within Higher Education would be advantageous.
