An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced clinician to join the well-established Wirral Integrated Respiratory Service.
The Wirral Integrated Respiratory Service comprises Specialist Nurses, Assistant Practitioners, Clinical Support Workers, Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Physiotherapist assistants, and administrative staff, all committed to delivering excellent respiratory care on the Wirral. The service offers early supported discharge, admission avoidance, chronic disease management, pulmonary rehabilitation, and a home oxygen service for all oxygen patients on the Wirral.
The role is primarily 9-5, Monday to Friday. There is some opportunity for weekend and 8-8 working hours for suitable candidates, but this is not mandatory.
Main duties of the job
1. The post holder will care for patients in crisis and facilitate chronic disease management using advanced clinical expertise.
2. Prescribe oxygen to new patients and after clinical assessment.
3. Manage complex respiratory cases, titrate oxygen in the community, and oversee acute oxygen therapy on virtual ward patients.
4. Support hospital-at-home interventions and conduct community assessments for admission avoidance.
5. Act as team coordinator, triage referrals, and communicate effectively across teams. May deputise for the service manager and oversee junior staff appraisals.
