Responsibilities
As a Yard Operative, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our yard. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Supporting Traffic Management: Provide clean cones, filled sandbags, and signage that are fit for purpose to traffic management operatives.
* Preparing Equipment: Ensure the correct quantity of traffic signals are ready and fuelled before collection by traffic management crews.
* Creating Custom Signage: Fabricate special signage as required for specific works.
* Quality Control: Visually check all signs and cones for damages upon return from the site and log any issues.
* Battery Management: Secure, account for, and charge all batteries in accordance with company procedures.
* Maintaining Equipment: Clean, re-sleeve, re-base, and security mark all cones to ensure they are in top condition.
* Organising the Yard: Return all yard equipment to their correct locations, including pedestrian barriers, signs, cones, and sandbags.
* General Yard Duties: Perform various yard duties as instructed by the Yard Supervisor.
* Adhering to Procedures: Follow all company procedures regarding quality, health and safety, and environmental issues.

* Full UK driving licence with less than 6 points - manual licence only
* Right to work in the UK unsponsored
* Physically fit
* Able to pass a drug and alcohol test
