What You’ll Be Doing
You'll help deliver creative, inclusive physical activity initiatives across Trafford’s neighborhoods particularly for groups facing barriers to access such as children, women, ethnic minorities, disabled residents, and those with long-term health conditions.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting delivery of the Trafford Moving strategy
* Supporting activation of capital infrastructure projects across leisure, sport and active travel
* Designing and coordinating community-based physical activity projects
* Engaging with residents, local groups, and key partners
* Supporting events like the Trafford Moving Conference and major sports events, such as the ICC Women’s T20 Cricket World Cup 2026
* Monitoring program impact and sharing insights to drive improvement
You’ll also help deliver and monitor funded programs like the Holiday Activity Fund and support development activities that strengthen local partnerships and volunteering.
About you
We're looking for someone who:
* Is passionate about community health and wellbeing and physical activity
* Has experience in physical activity, sport, or leisure (especially in diverse communities)
* Understands barriers to participation and knows how to break them down
* Is confident engaging and inspiring a wide range of stakeholders
* Brings strong organisation, creativity, and communication skills
* Can analyse data and turn insight into action
A relevant degree/diploma and knowledge of Trafford’s communities are
also, desirable.

* Flexibility will be required to work outside core hours as the office is open from 7.00 am until 5.30 pm (operated on a Rota system)
* An enhanced DBS check with children/adults barred list check will be required.
* You will have flexibility in terms of hybrid working at home and in the office.
* You will be required to drive in this role.
