As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist you will be responsible for providing highly skilled rehabilitative care to patients who reside in Newham, with some additional input on discharging patients from our step-down inpatient ward at East Ham Care Centre. You will be promoting the health of this population and reducing the effects of ill health, disability and maximising the individual's potential for independence.
Our team is part of a wider established integrated service. This will give you the opportunity to work closely with our Physiotherapists, District Nurses, in-patient staff, Care Navigators, Telehealth Team, Fast Falls Team and our team Psychologist. Our service is also supported by a team of experienced administrators. You will also have the opportunity to work closely with the local GPs, Newham Social Services team and other statutory and non-statutory services to meet the health and social needs of this local population.
The integration and collaboration of all these disciplines and services allows all new admissions to our service to have a clinically robust assessment and treatment plan, with an emphasis on promoting independent living that is holistic, evidence based and in line with all current Best Practice Guidelines.
Support and development for staff in our service is one of our main goals. We have a robust in-service training programme that is supported by our dedicated Practice Experience Facilitator.
In addition to this you will be supported by our team of highly experienced Therapists to ensure you reach a very high standard of clinical knowledge, skill and experience. We will also support the development, implementation and maintenance of high quality, safe and sustainable clinical and operational leadership under the direction of the Therapy Team Leaders and Clinical Leads.
