Analytical Chemist (2-year contract)
Our client is on the hunt for a talented individual to join their dynamic team and contribute to the exciting world of analytical characterisation techniques, particularly chromatographic methods. If you have a passion for chemistry and a knack for problem-solving, this could be the perfect role for you!
Key Responsibilities:
* Sample Preparation & Analysis: utilise chromatographic techniques such as GC and HPLC to prepare and analyse samples.
* Collaborative Communication: Present and discuss analytical results with relevant teams to ensure project objectives are met.
* Project Management: Plan, monitor, and control work in collaboration with team leaders while effectively communicating results to stakeholders.
* Customer Focus: Actively seek relevant information and discuss issues with colleagues across formulation, manufacturing, and synthetic chemistry departments.
* Creative Problem-Solving: Assess complex situations and generate original solutions to analytical challenges.
What You'll Bring:
* A first degree in Chemistry or a closely related subject with significant analytical content. A PhD in analytical chemistry or relevant experience is a plus.
* Proven experience with analytical techniques for qualitative and quantitative analysis, particularly GC and HPLC.
* Familiarity with GC-MS, LC-MS, and spectrophotometry is desirable, but not essential.
* Knowledge of extraction procedures and sample preparation technologies for agrochemicals or similar products.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
* Strong attention to detail, flexibility, and exceptional planning and multi-tasking abilities.
* Experience working effectively in cross-functional teams, solving common problems with varied methods.
* A solid understanding of physical and organic chemistry.
