About the Role
The Pensions Systems Analyst will join the Systems team collaborating with the Systems Team Leader. You will support the BP Pension Fund’s operations by maintaining, enhancing and testing the systems that underpin pension administration. The role combines technical development, data management and team member engagement to deliver reliable, accurate and efficient system solutions for one of the UK’s largest defined benefit pension funds.
What you will do
* Maintain and develop systems: Support day‑to‑day operation, configuration and enhancement of pensions administration and supporting systems.
* Deliver technical solutions: Design, build and test extracts, integrations, reports and automation to meet operational requirements.
* Manage data: Maintain data quality, perform data reconciliations and manage data flows across systems.
* Testing and change control: Plan and complete system testing, support releases and maintain change documentation.
* Gather requirements: Run workshops and requirements sessions, translate business needs into technical specifications and influence positive outcomes.
* Reporting and analytics: Create and maintain management information, dashboards and ad‑hoc analysis to support decision making.
* Collaborate and share knowledge: Work within the team to share expertise, support colleagues and contribute to continuous improvement.
What you will need to be successful

* Education: Degree level education or equivalent experience preferred and/or relevant formal certification.
* Pensions experience: Practical experience in the pensions industry.
* Technical expertise: Strong knowledge of MS SQL/SQL Server and T‑SQL, XML, XSL, Power BI, MS Excel and VBA.
* Systems lifecycle experience: Demonstrable experience of system design, configuration, testing and change control processes.
* Project awareness: Understanding of project lifecycles and project management methodologies.
* Analytical skills: Accurate data analysis, strong attention to detail and a logical, structured approach to problem solving.
* Communication and influence: Clear verbal and written communication; experience running requirements meetings and driving positive group outcomes.
* Team orientation: Ability to operate in a team structure, share knowledge and support colleagues.
* Personal attributes: Highly motivated, client delivery focused, adaptable and willing to take on new challenges.
Desirable
* Experience of the Intellipen pensions administration system.
* Experience with HTML and content management systems for web content.
