About The Role
1. You will be based at our SUEZ Renew Hub, Trafford Park, M17 1SX.
2. You will be earning £26,227.50 per annum.
3. You will be working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08:00am - 16:00pm
Training and Qualification
4. Enrolment on a City & Guilds Level 2 Bicycle Maintenance qualification.
5. Combination of on-the-job training and off-the-job learning.
6. Regular assessments and skill development reviews.
What are the requirements?
Essential:
7. Basic understanding of mechanical principles (or willingness to learn)
8. Ability to follow instructions accurately, both verbal and written
9. Willingness to learn how to use hand tools and workshop equipment safely
10. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
11. Understanding the importance of excellent customer service
12. A genuine interest in bicycles and cycle maintenance.
Desirable:
13. Some previous experience in cycle maintenance (paid, voluntary, or personal)
14. Previous customer service or retail experience, preferably within the cycle industry
What will you be doing as an apprentice bicycle mechanic?
Under the guidance of experienced technicians, the apprentice will:
15. Install and adjust speed, brake, and gear mechanisms
16. Fit new bicycle parts and accessories as directed
17. Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workshop environment
18. Develop product knowledge and understanding of the cycle industry
19. Work effectively as part of a small team and contribute positively to the workplace
20. Be flexible to work weekends when required
21. Carry out any other related duties
