YOUR ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced and skilled Warehouse Solution Design Engineer at our customer’s automotive site in Solihull.
This role involves linking onsite material planning and logistics activities with CEVA functional teams to deliver project requirements. You will respond and plan for changes in the supply chain caused by demand variances, costs, or customer challenges.
This pivotal role is based at our Solihull operation, Monday to Friday. Flexibility in working hours and days may be required depending on project needs, including potential weekend work.
WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?
Reporting to the Senior Planning Manager, your main responsibilities will include:
* Calculating the volumes and flow of parts throughout the operation (PREP).
* Conducting resource planning to identify and fulfill resources and skills required to meet business needs and objectives.
* Designing parts layout in the warehouse and line environments considering LEAN methodologies.
* Working with production and operational teams to identify suitable delivery methods.
* Providing detailed logistics support at customer requests.
* Benchmarking and reviewing current operations to ensure a best-in-class service.
* Promoting a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
* Supporting the development of the planning master schedule.
* Supporting ERP system development, testing, and reporting issues.
* Ensuring timely delivery of all projects, highlighting risks, and providing solutions.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
To succeed, you should have proven experience in warehouse planning or solutions design, with a track record of designing and deploying operational improvements and projects. A strong understanding of operational layouts and warehousing or production environments, ideally within a fast-paced and changing environment, is essential.
You must be an excellent communicator and problem-solver with a keen interest in continuous improvement, LEAN methodologies, or solutions design. Ability to build effective relationships at all levels, with a strong customer focus, and proficiency in preparing and presenting statistical reports, data analytics, and operational plans are required, with good knowledge of MS Office and related software.
Experience with AutoCAD or MTM software is desirable but not essential.
