Solicitor - Employment

Location: Guildford or Woking

This is a permanent, full time vacancy

My client is currently seeking a Solicitor to join their Employment Team based in Guildford or Woking.

As a Solicitor, you will manage your own caseload of both contentious and non-contentious employment work, including advising on HR matters, settlement agreements, contracts and policies, and Employment Tribunal claims. You will also support the senior lawyers within the team on complex and high-value instructions, giving you exposure and technical development as you carve out your reputation as an expert in this area of law.

You will maintain and strengthen existing client relationships, as well as develop new ones, working closely with senior colleagues to deliver on the team’s strategic objectives. Our team regularly hosts seminars and workshops geared towards providing updates in legislation and training for HR and senior management professionals, and you will have the opportunity to play an active role in the delivery of these events.

What we look for:

* A qualified Solicitor with proven experience advising and/or supporting on a wide range of both contentious and non-contentious employment matters for employer and employee clients.
* While we do not use PQE as the sole measure of experience, we do expect this position will suit somebody with 2-5PQE.
* While this is a Solicitor-level position, we are also open to considering candidates whose background and experience may be better suited to the Associate level within our progression structure.
* Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships with clients.
* A proactive and collaborative mindset, and an interest in contributing to business development and team growth.
* Alignment with our human-first values; somebody who genuinely cares about their clients, colleagues, as well as delivering a first-class service.
