Overview
Position Summary:
Under limited oversight by Senior Management, develops strategy, promotes, implements, and leads training activities; manages internal and external resources to establish and grow site Lean and Six Sigma initiatives.
Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities:
1. Working with Operations Management, develops a lean and Six Sigma implementation strategy including, but not limited to: appropriate selection of methods and metrics, training needs assessment and support for associated personnel, project opportunities and implementation plans and overall management leadership of the operational excellence programs
2. Working with Manufacturing, Engineering Services, Facilities and Materials personnel, develops and implements plans using applicable Lean Manufacturing tools to improve the quality, productivity and overall cost of our products
3. Tools include following the DMAIC process, Root Cause analysis, Value Stream Mapping, Statistical Process Control, One Piece Flow etc. In the application of these tools the Manager of Operational Excellence is the resident expert.
4. Works with Document Control and Quality Assurance to initiate change orders arising from these activities and ensure their effective and timely implementation. Ensures that all affected personnel will be adequately trained. Ensures ensure the effectiveness of this training
5. Working with the Purchasing groups, engages suppliers in Lean Manufacturing initiatives
6. Maintains adequate records and periodically report to Operations Management on the status of all ongoing projects
7. Has the principal responsibility to coordinate corrective actions arising from internal or external audits
8. Other duties as assigned by the Department VP

Qualifications
Minimum Knowledge & Experience Required for the Position:
15. Ten years minimum experience in manufacturing or project management in a recognized lean manufacturing environment.
16. Certified Master Black Belt
17. Competent in Business Software, e.g. MS Excel, Project, Word, etc.
18. Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Engineering, MBA preferred

The annual base salary range for this role is currently $, range to $, range. Individual employee compensation will ultimately depend on factors including education, relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, and particular business needs.
