Altera Recruitment Group is recruiting for an early-stage clean technology business developing innovative thermal energy systems designed to store renewable electricity and deliver low‑carbon heat on demand. Following recent investment and continued growth, they are now looking to bring in a Test Engineer to support the development and validation of their core technology.
This is a hands‑on role within a fast‑paced engineering environment, where you’ll play a key part in building, running and improving test systems that directly influence product performance and development.
The responsibilities of the Test Engineer include:
* Design, build and commission test rigs to evaluate thermal and fluid‑based systems
* Carry out testing, troubleshooting and iterative improvements to support product development
* Capture and analyse data from instrumentation such as thermocouples, flow meters and pressure sensors
* Work closely with design engineers to feed back performance insights and refine system designs
* Support wider engineering activities in a workshop‑based, prototype‑led environment
What We're Looking For:
* Experience working with thermal, mechanical or fluid systems (e.g. heating, steam, energy or process systems)
* Hands‑on approach with experience building or working on test rigs or experimental setups
* Familiarity with instrumentation and data acquisition for system performance testing
* Comfortable working in a fast‑moving, evolving environment where priorities can shift
* Strong problem‑solving mindset with a practical, solutions‑driven approach
