English & Maths Intervention Specialist

Salary: £100–£120 per day
Salary dependent on experience and qualifications. Higher rates may apply for candidates with strong subject knowledge or previous classroom/Intervention Specialist experience. Pay is in line with school expectations and Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), where applicable.
Teach Now is recruiting a confident English & Maths Intervention Specialist to support students in a welcoming secondary school in Brent. This role focuses on delivering targeted small-group intervention sessions to help students strengthen their literacy and numeracy skills ahead of GCSE examinations.
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate, tutor, teaching assistant or cover supervisor who enjoys working with students who need extra support to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver small group intervention sessions in English and Maths up to GCSE level
• Identify learning gaps and provide targeted academic support
• Support students with reading, writing, problem solving and exam preparation
• Build student confidence and encourage engagement in core subjects
• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
• Work collaboratively with teaching, SEN and pastoral teams
Requirements
• Strong knowledge of English and Maths up to GCSE level
• Experience working with young people in an educational setting
• Confident delivering intervention or tutoring sessions
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A passion for helping students improve academically
Desirable:
• Experience with GCSE tutoring or intervention programmes
• Experience supporting students with SEN or learning gaps
• Background as a Tutor, Graduate, Teaching Assistant or Cover Supervisor
