We are working in partnership with a supportive and inclusive primary school seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to provide 1:1 support for a child with severe Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
This role is ideal for an experienced LSA or support worker who is confident working with complex needs and is committed to helping children access learning in a safe, structured and nurturing environment.
The Role:
1. Providing consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with severe ASD
2. Supporting emotional regulation, communication and sensory needs
3. Implementing strategies outlined in the child’s EHCP
4. Supporting access to learning and inclusion within the classroom
5. Assisting with transitions, routines and structured activities
6. Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team
7. Ensuring safeguarding, behaviour and care plans are followed at all times
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
8. Experience supporting children with severe ASD and complex needs
9. A calm, patient and resilient approach
10. Knowledge of autism-friendly strategies ( visual supports, routines, sensory regulation)
11. The ability to build strong, trusting relationships
12. An understanding of safeguarding and child protection
13. Team Teach or similar training is desirable but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
