Magellan Aerospace Blackpool has an exciting opportunity for a CNC Machinist Grade 3.
Full Time Permanent Position
34.5 hours per week
Day Shifts, 7am-7pm, Sun-Mon-Tues / Wed-Thur-Fri in 4 week rotations
Job location: Blackpool Business Park, Amy Johnson Way, Blackpool, FY4 2RP

This role is governed by ITAR, restrictions may apply
Machining of aircraft components from generated engineering models to prescribed customer specification, using aluminium or titanium metal as required, utilising 3, 4 and 5 axis machine tools.

Essential Responsibilities
A Grade 3 position has been fully signed off against the operation of 2 complete machining cells which could include working on aluminum and/or titanium metal parts on
3 Axis machines
4 Axis machines
5 Axis machines
Setting and operating the machine tools
To be able to operate multiple machines at all times during shift when safe to do so
To communicate efficiently and effectively with the supervisor, manager and colleagues
To carry out component change overs for own machines and colleagues if required
Carry out de-burring of components, including removal of sharp edges and cleaning of holes
Route work as necessary to next operator as per work instructions or team lead direction
Ability to resolve machining problems with minimum supervision
Escalation of unresolved problems to Shift Leader, Team Leader or Manager as required
Provide accurate handover information to next shift on current status and any issues arisen
Ensure all job card documentation is filled in correctly before moving onto next operation
To work in line with all company requirements including following work-to list and set up sheets
Housekeeping and maintenance of own working environment including keeping area free of spills
Work in a safe manner complying with all risk assessments and procedures in line with company Health and Safety policy, reporting any Health and Safety incidents that occur
Actively support and contribute to the continuous improvement programme and lean manufacturing
Any other reasonable duties required by management in support of the business
Skills / Knowledge Requirements
Academic:
Good general education
Recognised Engineering qualification, minimum of City & Guilds/NVQ in Mechanical Engineering
HNC Qualification (desirable)
Experience:
Minimum of 2 – 3 years of 3, 4 or 5 Axis machining
