TSR Legal are proud to be working with a well-established and expanding law firm with multiple offices across the South West, who are now seeking a Legal Cashier to join their growing finance team based in Taunton.
About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a traditional yet forward-thinking legal practice during an exciting period of growth. As a Legal Cashier, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the finance function, ensuring full compliance with SRA Accounts Rules and maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
You will work closely with the Accounting Manager and support wider financial operations across multiple offices. This is a hands-on role offering variety and responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:
* Processing client and office transactions, including bank transfers and receipts
* Performing daily and monthly bank reconciliations
* Raising client invoices and managing overdue payment follow-ups
* Maintaining accurate client and office ledgers
* Identifying and reporting any potential breaches or irregularities
* Supporting the month-end and year-end financial processes
* Preparing VAT returns and submitting them through the appropriate online portals
* Liaising with fee earners, support staff, auditors, clients, banks, and regulatory bodies
* Assisting with administrative tasks within the finance team where required
About You:
The ideal candidate will have prior experience working as a Legal Cashier within a law firm and demonstrate a strong understanding of SRA Accounts Rules. You'll also have:
* Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills
* A proactive and team-oriented approach
* Confidence using legal accounting software
* The ability to handle confidential information with discretion
