About The Role
We are currently looking for a Disrepair Solicitor to join our Housing Management Team due to continued growth and success. Our team has seen significant growth in the last 10 years and is one of the firm’s fastest growing teams, acting for Registered Providers and Local Authorities. The team is also recognised in Legal 500 & Chambers directory rankings and has been appointed to some of the largest national and regional frameworks.
Day-to-day, you will be successful in this role by:
Our Housing Disrepair team, which handles the departments housing conditions claims, has a strong reputation within the sector and has enjoyed significant success at trial defending claims on behalf of Social Landlords. This has led to an influx of instructions, including pre‑litigation and litigated claims. The main focus of this role will be defending litigated housing conditions claims. For this role you will be managing your own caseload of litigated housing conditions claims and you will be well versed with drafting defences and witness statements and preparing cases for trial.
The Role Is Right For You If
We are looking for someone with previous experience working in a Social Housing team, ideally having represented Registered Providers / Local Authorities, in regard to Disrepair matters. In addition to this we are looking for an individual with the following skills:
* Proven track record of conducting claims to trial
* Ambition and a real interest in the social housing sector
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, being able to adapt your style to communicate effectively with a wide range of professional people
* Enthusiastic about delivering excellent quality and service to clients
* The ability to multitask on a varied caseload
* Work well as part of a team and have a can‑do attitude
Advocacy experience will be advantageous but is not essential.
