Salary: GBP15 - GBP15 per hour + Work Life Balance
Shift: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–2:30pm
Hours: 30 hours per week
Pay: £15 per hour
Weeks: 39 weeks per year (term time only)
Team: Managing a team of 3 General Assistants (including the current manager who is stepping down)
Service: Catering for up to 240 pupils, with potential to increase (378 on roll)
Key Focus: Strong allergen management and client relationship skills are essential
About the Company:

Their commitment to quality and care has driven rapid growth, and they’re now seeking a skilled Chef Manager to lead the kitchen team in Winchester.
The Role:
As Chef Manager, you’ll have full operational and financial responsibility for the school’s catering facility. You’ll lead a small team and ensure the highest standards of food and service are consistently delivered, with particular attention to allergen management and client engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead, coach, and motivate your kitchen team
* Manage stock, food, and labour costs
* Ensure consistent food quality and service standards
* Drive engagement through promotions and events
* Oversee menu development and innovation
* Maintain compliance with company procedures and legislation
* Conduct regular audits to uphold standards
* Build strong relationships with the client and school community
* Manage complex allergen requirements and bespoke dietary needs
About You:
* Experience in a similar environment, ideally within education catering
* Strong understanding of health & safety and food hygiene
* Confident team leader with line management experience
* OND/HND qualification (advantageous but not essential)
* Excellent communication and client management skills
* Experience handling complex allergen protocols
