Director, UK Pharma Lead – Life Science & Pharma Global Service Line, Buildings UK

Ramboll is seeking to hire a Director into our Global Life Science & Pharma Global Service Line, within Buildings, to develop and grow our client base with globally leading pharmaceutical companies operating in the UK. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping Ramboll’s strategic offering to pharmaceutical clients, supporting our continued growth and strengthening our position in the UK market.
You will work closely with Ramboll colleagues across the UK and internationally to bring together the expertise required to deliver innovative and high-quality solutions for our clients.
Life Science & Pharma Global Service Line
Our Life Science & Pharma Global Service Line brings together our multi-discipline Buildings capability across Structural Engineering, Building Services, and Project Management alongside specialised expertise in areas such as vibration, lab planning, clean-rooms, production facilities (GMP), process engineering and advanced research environments. Our teams support Life Science & Pharma clients across the full lifecycle of their facilities—from early advisory and concept development through design, tendering, construction, and final handover.
The Global Service Line operates across the UK, Denmark, and Sweden, providing a collaborative platform where technical specialists and market leaders work together to support complex projects and key client relationships. This global network provides access to a broad range of expertise and enables us to deliver integrated solutions to clients operating internationally.
Within this environment, you will collaborate with leading experts across Ramboll and contribute to the continued development of our Life Science & Pharma capabilities.
Your new role
We are looking for a Director who shares our drive and ambition to develop and grow Ramboll’s relationships and offering to pharmaceutical clients in the UK. The role will be multi-facetted including:
* Being our lead and point of contact within Buildings, and the Global Service Line, for Pharma in the UK.
* Establish and grow our UK client base within the pharmaceutical industry by building new relationships, leveraging Ramboll’s existing global and cross–business area relationships, and maintaining trusted partnerships with clients, collaborators, and colleagues.
* Identifying, tracking and pursuing opportunities within the Life Science & Pharma market.
* Leading or contributing to strategic bids and proposals – coordinating multidisciplinary teams, commercial and legal inputs.
* Develop a deep knowledge and understanding of Ramboll’s capabilities across the UK and globally and connecting these capabilities to client needs.
* Working closely with colleagues across the Global Service Line in the UK, Denmark, and Sweden to leverage technical expertise and specialist capabilities.
* Contributing to the development of our UK Life Science & Pharma capabilities and supporting strategic capacity planning.
* Raising Ramboll’s profile and reputation in the market through networking, client and partner engagement and industry events.
* Acting as Project or Programme Director for projects for pharmaceutical clients.
* Leading multi-disciplinary project teams, supported by Project and Design Managers.
* Coaching, mentoring and supporting the development of our teams to strengthen Ramboll’s Life Science & Pharma expertise.
As a Director, you will have the mandate and influence to develop Ramboll’s service offering for pharmaceutical clients in the UK and will report to the UK Life Science & Pharma Service Line Director.
This role can be based in any of our UK Buildings offices (London, Cambridge, Bristol, Birmingham, Chester, or Manchester) with a requirement to travel to Ramboll and client sites, and opportunity to work in a hybrid office / home location.
Your new team
You will join our dynamic UK Buildings division of more than 550 colleagues, in our Life Science & Pharma Service Line. You will collaborate closely with colleagues across Ramboll’s Buildings organisation as well as with our global Life Science & Pharma Service Line teams in the UK, Denmark, and Sweden, and with specialists across other Ramboll business areas.
You will also become part of the UK Life Science & Pharma Service Line leadership team, working alongside other Directors to shape the strategic priorities that will support our continued growth.
Our leadership team operates with a strong collaborative culture, where perspectives are valued and decisions are shaped collectively. In this environment, you will work closely with experienced colleagues to navigate leadership, client, and project challenges while contributing to the continued development of Ramboll’s Life Science & Pharma Service Line.
