We have an excellent opportunity for a Workshop Supervisor at Stanley Ferry, Wakefield. Reporting to the National Workshops Manager, you will oversee the team responsible for building, supplying, and repairing lock gates and parts, ensuring safety, heritage standards, and quality are met. We seek an organized, engaging manager who prioritizes customer experience and health & safety.
Experience in Carpentry/Joinery is advantageous but not essential.

Location & Working Hours
The role is based at Stanley Ferry, Ferry Lane, Wakefield, Yorkshire WF3 4LZ, working 5 days a week.
Working hours are 07:30 - 16:00 Monday to Thursday, and 07:30 - 12:30 on Fridays.
Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications & Experience
The Supervisor will oversee workshop manufacturing, ensuring jobs are completed on time, within budget, and to quality and safety standards. Managing up to 10 operatives, you will organize workloads, ensure materials are available, and facilitate workflow. You will liaise with teams, suppliers, and customers as needed.
Key requirements include:
* People management experience in manufacturing or production.
* Practical process planning and improvement experience.
* Knowledge of health & safety practices; opportunity to gain a NEBOSH qualification.
* Experience with 2D & 3D CAD; opportunities to undertake CAD courses.
