Purpose of Job
My client is seeking a highly experienced and delivery-focused Project Manager to lead the end-to-end process mapping and capability & capacity workstreams within the EMEA Compliance Transformation Programme. This role will be pivotal in designing and implementing future-state operating models, aligning people, processes, and technology to support a scalable and sustainable compliance function across the region. The Project Manager will work closely with Compliance, HR, ITSD, Risk, and external partners to ensure successful delivery and adoption of new capabilities.
Background
* CMG provides the enterprise professional project, programme and portfolio management (P3M) resource and expertise to the organisation. It was established in Nov 2019 as an independent, centralised business function operating at a strategic level to provide enterprise wide oversight and management of projects.
* CMG is also a resource centre/ centre of excellence. It is comprised of professionally qualified project, programme and change managers, business analysts and junior analysts. These are divided into multi-disciplinary teams with reporting line to a Team Lead.
* The EMEA Compliance Transformation programme is a multi-million-pound EMEA wide programme across 19 countries and over 3 entities and several branches.
* EMEA Compliance Transformation Programme has been established to evolve compliance functions into proactive, commercially-focused partners that drive strategic decision-making and risk management. Leveraging technology and data analytics, compliance will continuously innovate to provide real-time insights and ensure adherence to evolving regulatory expectations
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
* Project Leadership: Lead the Capability and Capacity workstream, including end-to-end process mapping, role definition, and resource modelling
* Process Design: Collaborate with SMEs to document current-state processes and design future-state workflows aligned with strategic objectives.
* Capability Assessment: Identify required skills and competencies for future-state compliance roles; work with HR and L&D to define training and upskilling plans.
* Capacity Planning: Develop and implement a capacity model to ensure adequate resourcing across jurisdictions and functions.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with Compliance, HR, ITSD, and external consultants to align on scope, deliverables, and timelines.
* Governance & Reporting: Establish governance structures and provide regular updates to the programme steering committee and senior stakeholders
* Change Management: Support business readiness activities, including communications, training, and transition planning.
* Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to optimise processes and enhance operational efficiency post-implementation
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
* Proven track record in project management within Compliance, Risk, HR, or Operational Excellence in a global financial institution.
* Strong experience in process mapping, operating model design, and capability development.
* Familiarity with capacity planning tools and workforce modelling techniques.
* Experience delivering complex, cross-functional transformation programmes.
* Strong understanding of EMEA regulatory environments and compliance functions.
* Formal project management qualification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile) preferred.
* Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
* Experience working with consultancy partners (e.g., Big 4) is advantageous.
* Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
