Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in providing care to individuals in various settings, including nursing homes, care homes, and assisted living facilities. This role involves supporting clients with daily activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence.

Responsibilities

* Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
* Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs, ensuring all aspects of patient care are addressed.
* Assist with meal preparation and ensure clients receive proper nutrition.
* Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental and emotional well-being.
* Support clients with mobility needs, including heavy lifting when necessary.
* Maintain accurate records of client progress and report any concerns to the relevant healthcare professionals.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
* Implement behaviour management strategies as needed to ensure a safe environment.

Skills

* First aid certification is highly desirable.
* Experience in nursing homes or care homes is preferred.
* Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, and senior care practices is essential.
* Proficiency in medication administration and understanding of medical terminology is required.
* Previous experience in home care or caregiving roles is advantageous.
* Ability to drive may be necessary for certain positions within the role.
* Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
