Job Description
The Rolls-Royce Canada Limited team has an exciting opportunity for a Service Engineer - Field Service Representative (FSR). This role is based out of the Peterborough, Ontario site.
The Service Engineer is part of the Field Service Team. This position involves providing in-field support to Naval Customers, supporting equipment installation, maintenance, repairs, and diagnosis to minimize downtime and ensure customer satisfaction. Responsibilities include liaising with customers, maintaining service records, guiding on best practices, and working with onsite engineering on test procedures, product development, and production queries.
Key Accountabilities:
* Perform routine maintenance, repair, and commissioning on equipment following technical documentation.
* Create reports documenting work performed.
* Travel extensively, up to 50% (domestic and international), sometimes on short notice and for extended periods.
* Maintain close liaison with customer organizations and Rolls-Royce management.
* Review engineering changes and their impact on products in the field.
* Review processes of the local engineering group for compliance with best practices.
* Review cases from manufacturing engineering requiring specialized consideration.
* Address technical issues with customers and vendors.
* Develop, review, and edit technical documents to support site needs.
* Support site programs through testing and validation activities.
Qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related STEM field, proven technical report writing skills, and the ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics. Experience with mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment is required. Candidates must be Canadian citizens or Permanent Residents and obtain Canadian Controlled Goods and Security Clearance.
Preferred skills include strong communication with engineering teams, ability to operate independently, planning and organizational skills, and proficiency in tools like Ansys, SolidWorks, SAP, and MS Office.
