Job Description

The Interim HR Generalist - Maternity Cover will be responsible for:

3. Providing advice and guidance to managers and staff on all aspects of employment including recruitment, absence, performance management, maternity and paternity leave, and disciplinary and grievance etc.
4. Working with managers to design effective job advertisements and job descriptions.
5. Managing recruitment processes including placing adverts, arranging interviews, drawing up employment documentation and managing on-boarding processes.
6. Preparing the monthly payroll in liaison with the Finance Office.
7. Running the Centre's leave and absence HR information system.
8. Ensuring all visa applications and renewals are conducted in accordance with Home Office regulations and making sure all the relevant documentation is up to date and compliant.
9. Acting as Secretary to academic and non-academic personnel committee.
10. Maintaining electronic and hard copy personnel files.
11. Supporting the Centre's procedures for staff appraisal, assessment and staff development.
12. Keeping abreast of changes in employment and associated legislation.

The Successful Applicant

A successful Interim HR Generalist - Maternity Cover should have:

13. CIPD level 5 qualified or working towards
14. Experience of managing HR processes, including recruitment, absence, performance management, maternity and paternity leave, and disciplinary and grievance etc.
15. Excellent organisational skills including managing a varied workload, prioritising competing demands with the ability to pro-actively think ahead of issues.
16. A proven ability to develop professional and effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
17. Experience of providing a high level of customer service.
18. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
19. Attention to detail and the ability to produce accurate, detailed work within deadlines.
20. Ability to deal accurately and confidently with numbers.
21. Discretion and the ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality.
22. Sound knowledge of employment and associated legislation.

23. Competitive daily rate of £143-£176, depending on experience.
24. 35 days annual leave including bank holidays
25. Free on-site parking
26. 12 month contract
