An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Finance Officer to oversee Corporate Strategy and Commissioning Services.
Responsible to the Finance Manager, y ou will contribute to the provision of a comprehensive and professional service to Members and senior managers within the Council. You will develop the financial information supplied to managers and work alongside Heads of Service, to ensure they receive financial support, to help them run those services.
You will provide a range of professional financial support, to service areas within the Corporate Strategy, Commissioning, & Public Health Directorate. This will include monthly management accounting for Revenue and Capital, advice and guidance, and helping support decision-making processes to enable the most effective and efficient delivery of the service, resulting in the most appropriate outcomes for the residents of Kirklees.
Additionally, you will have line management responsibility for a small finance team and will assist the Finance Manager in developing that team.
Currently the role will involve significant amounts of time working from home but with new ways of working, flexible working arrangements and excellent IT facilities at Kirklees Council, your location need not be a barrier! There will be an option to work from the office if required.
