Hours: 37 per week (52 weeks), Full time.
About the role
HoW College is seeking an adaptable, knowledgeable, and motivated Electrical Installation Lecturer to join our Engineering department. The role involves planning and delivering high quality teaching, assessing students, maintaining administrative duties, and promoting safeguarding and equality.
Responsibilities
* Plan and prepare lessons in line with the curriculum and produce schemes of work and lesson plans.
* Deliver effective programmes of learning with efficient classroom management.
* Work in accordance with college and examining body requirements, implementing quality assurance.
* Monitor and assess students’ and clients’ progress, marking work promptly and providing feedback.
* Maintain accurate administration systems, including enrolment and registers.
* Undertake continuous professional development and update subject knowledge.
* Provide support and personal tutor guidance to enhance student satisfaction and achievement.
* Maintain safe working practices and meet statutory safety and safeguarding requirements.
* Safeguard and promote welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
* Operate in compliance with college policies (Equal Opportunities, No Smoking, Quality Management).
* Travel to Bromsgrove, Worcester and other campuses as required and cover for colleagues.
* Perform other duties as reasonably required, including evening and Saturday work.
Qualifications & Experience
* Relevant teaching qualification or willingness to obtain a Certificate in Education and Training within two years.
* Minimum level 2 qualification in Maths and English.
* Subject‑specific knowledge and experience in electrical installation.
* Positive background in the industry, with a commitment to continuous learning.
* Successful completion of Enhanced DBS and other statutory background checks.

Conditions of Service
* Full‑time lecturer, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks.
* Salary band £26,687 – £41,413; increases on annual incremental basis after probation.
* Annual leave: 37 days + 8 public bank holidays + 5 concessionary days.
* Occupational pension: Teachers pension scheme.
* Probationary period: 9 months with mandatory induction and training (Prevent, Equality & Diversity, GDPR, Safeguarding, Health & Safety).
* Travel to other campuses as required.
