Compliance & Quality Manager

High‑Growth UK Manufacturer | Andover, Hampshire | £60,000–£65,000 + bonus

A market‑leading UK manufacturing business in a highly specialised engineering sector is seeking a Compliance & Quality Manager to strengthen its quality, governance and operational discipline as it continues an impressive growth trajectory.

This is a rare opportunity to join a business that, despite being just over a decade old, now commands the majority share of its UK product category, exports internationally, and is recognised for its innovation, reliability and engineering excellence.

With a newly created role, Compliance & Quality Manager, the business is now investing in its core foundations, ensuring quality and compliance continue to underpin expansion into new markets and the launch of new products.

Summary

The company designs and manufactures premium, high‑performance equipment on‑site in Hampshire, selling directly in the UK. With exceptional cashflow, a full order book heading into next year, and significant room to scale manufacturing capacity, the environment is fast‑paced, practical, and commercially strong.

As the business has grown rapidly, this role is to take ownership of quality and compliance end‑to‑end processes and bring clarity, control, and consistency.

Quality is foundational to the company’s reputation, product reliability and future growth ambitions.

If you’re motivated by building structure, embedding high standards, and elevating quality across a manufacturing environment, this is an opportunity to make a lasting impact.

Duties of the Compliance & Quality Manager

This role holds end‑to‑end accountability for quality, compliance, governance and continuous improvement across the manufacturing operation. Core responsibilities include:

* Owning and leading the business’s Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring it is robust, current and aligned with customer expectations, regulatory requirements and overall business strategy
* Developing, implementing and maintaining quality policies, procedures and standards to ensure products consistently meet specification, safety and performance requirements
* Acting as the primary point of contact for external regulatory bodies, leading third‑party audits including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
* Coordinating and governing all ISO compliance requirements, ensuring audit readiness, effective controls and zero major non‑conformances
* Designing and executing a structured internal audit programme, identifying non‑conformances, operational gaps and areas of risk
* Leading Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) activity, including root cause analysis of product failures or process deviations to prevent recurrence
* Evaluating, approving and monitoring supplier quality performance, including supplier audits and manufacturing site risk assessments
* Working closely with suppliers to resolve quality issues, improve consistency and strengthen quality feedback loops across the supply chain
* Supporting and improving the end‑to‑end warranty process, reducing warranty claims and maximising supplier recoveries
* Partnering with operational leaders to embed high standards across production, balancing quality integrity with commercial delivery
* Working alongside the Process & SOP Consultant to embed new and existing SOPs, ensuring documented processes translate into consistent shop‑floor behaviours
* Identifying gaps where new procedures are required and leading their development, implementation and training
* Reviewing and analysing quality performance data, KPIs and cost of quality metrics, identifying trends and improvement opportunities
* Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, repeatability and product reliability
* Integrating health, safety and environmental compliance into governance and operating processes, promoting a zero‑harm culture
* Delivering quality and compliance training across the business to foster a culture where quality is everyone’s responsibility
* Providing structured, meaningful quality and compliance reporting to senior leadership to support decision‑making as the business scales

Ideal candidate skills You will be well suited to this role if you bring:

* Proven experience within manufacturing quality and compliance, ideally in engineered products, machinery or complex assemblies
* Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, with exposure to ISO 14001 and related standards
* Experience owning, improving and governing a Quality Management System
* Confidence leading audits, investigations and corrective actions
* The ability to influence and educate operational teams without being bureaucratic
* A practical, hands‑on mindset suited to a fast‑growing manufacturing environment
* The capability to balance structure and governance with commercial pragmatism
