The role:
We are looking for technical, enthusiastic and flexible people with a keen eye for detail. Based at our Old West Gun Works site and reporting to a shift leader, your main task will be to operate the production machines, hand assembly jigs and packaging equipment whilst ensuring the product quality is up to standard. Energy, enthusiasm and an ability to do some light lifting are crucial. The positions will also involve:
5. operating machinery and equipment to high standards ensuring targets are achieved
6. basic production fault finding to identify machinery/production inefficiencies
7. reading and understanding relevant standard operating procedures
8. performing manual assembly, using components, tools and equipment
9. reading and understanding product route cards (BOM) and drawings
10. inspection of finished products
11. identifying defects with components or finished goods and reporting them accordingly
12. undertaking asset care as part of your daily role
13. maintaining and driving forward 5S standards
14. using IT systems (E8 / Microsoft Dynamics ) to update works orders and complete quality checks
Who you are:
Knowledge, skills and experience:
15. A good mechanical aptitude and a passion for engineering
16. Numeracy skills and an ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner, with a good standard of written and spoken English

17. Enthusiasm with a good work ethic and excellent interpersonal skills
18. An organised approach and ability to cope well under pressure
19. Good problem-solving capacity and ability to work on own initiative
20. A flexible, hard-working and ‘can do’ attitude and adaptability to changes in your working environment

22. Self-motivation and the ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
23. The drive to challenge machine targets, always identify areas for improvement and remain vigilant and observant
Working hours
The position will entail working regular mornings and afternoons Monday to Friday on a two-week shift pattern. Night shift and weekend work may also be required to meet the demands of the business, and you may also be required to help in other areas on site. A flexible, ‘can do’ attitude is therefore paramount.
