An exciting position has become available in Enfield Youth Justice Service for a suitable candidate to provide support to young people who are in early stages of being involved in crime. Our ambition is to see children as children within youth justice services, treat them fairly and help them to build on their strengths so they can rehabilitate and make positive contributions to society. This will prevent offending and create safer communities with fewer victims in Enfield.
Qualifications & Experience
* Passionate about making a difference to children and young people and have an interest in youth justice.
* Experienced undertaking assessments of children and young people’s needs and developing personalised plans of support.
* Ability to develop positive relationships of trust with young people with a diversity of needs and adverse childhood experiences.
* Great team player with a ‘can do’ approach and positive outlook.
Key Responsibilities
* Use a trauma-informed approach when engaging with young people.
* Offer support, guidance and advocacy, and challenge views and behaviours that could lead to further offending.
* Maintain detailed, accurate and contemporaneous records of all activities and case progress in both hard copy and electronic format in accordance with target objectives and national standards.
* Carry out assessments, deliver interventions and broker additional support to young people that enable them to achieve good outcomes whilst preventing re‑offending.
