Responsibilities
1. Work within an insurance defence litigation specialist area, to pursuepletion of files in line with client instruction to themercial benefit of Keoghs.
2. Proactively identifying next steps required on matter, discussing those aspects with the Lead Lawyer and acting as agreed.
3. Interviewing witnesses and drafting statements.
4. Liaising with parties involved in claims including the insured, insurer, witnesses etc.
5. Drafting pleadings and applications.
6. Instructing counsel and attending conferences, JSMs, mediations both remotely and in person.
7. Attend court in person or by telephone, attend trials, settlement conferences etc as required.
8. Delivery of agreed performance targets and quality standards.
9. Maintaining case managements systems with up-to-date management information for clients.
10. To ensurepliance with the LSNI regulations.
Working Hours 35 hours per week
Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm with 1 unpaid hour for lunch.
Primary location for this role is Belfast Office
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
11. Qualified solicitor or proven relevant legal experience is essential.
12. Experience of indemnity, liability and quantum desirable.
13. Experience of cases involvingplex medical issues preferred.
14. Good telephone advocacy skills.
15. Positive, confident and enthusiastic.
16. Excellent listening, verbal and writtenmunication skills including the ability topose professional writtenmunications.
17. Good advocacy skills.
18. Excellent inter-personal and client care skills.
19. Understanding of case law and litigation practice and process, and Court Practice Rules.
