Maintenance Engineer - Birmingham | £45,000
A growing precision engineering company based in Birmingham is investing heavily in modern machinery and long-term improvements. This is a business that values engineering excellence and gives its team the tools and support needed to succeed. They're now looking to add a skilled Maintenance Engineer to support production across multiple sites and help drive reliability, performance, and continuous improvement.
The role
As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll play a hands-on role in keeping equipment running safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
* Reactive mechanical and electrical maintenance to reduce downtime
* Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and TPM activities
* Fault finding and implementing long-term fixes
* Supporting machinery installations, upgrades, and refurbishments
* Working with the Maintenance Manager on risk assessments and asset planning
* Ensuring all work meets UK Health & Safety standards
* Updating maintenance activity using a CMMS system
* Checking contractor RAMS, permits to work, and on-site compliance
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment
* Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
* Knowledge of TPM principles and CMMS systems
* Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems
* Ability to read engineering drawings and manuals
* Relevant engineering qualification (NVQ, BTEC Level 3 or equivalent)
* Proactive attitude with good communication skills
