Psychological Therapist – Community Mental Health Team

Overview
We are hoping to welcome a psychological therapist to our team. In this role you will provide evidence‑based psychological interventions to adults with complex mental health needs, contribute to formulation‑driven care within the multi‑disciplinary team, and work collaboratively with colleagues to support recovery‑focused treatment planning. The role also involves offering consultation and psychological thinking to the wider team, helping to ensure high‑quality, psychologically informed care across the service.
Responsibilities
* Provide evidence‑based psychological assessments and interventions to adults and older adults presenting with complex and enduring mental health difficulties.
* Deliver individual and group therapeutic interventions.
* Contribute to psychological thinking within the team through formulation, consultation, and joint working with colleagues across the CMHT.
* Support the team to develop psychologically informed care plans and offer guidance on risk and recovery‑focused approaches.
* Maintain accurate clinical records, support referral pathways, and participate in service development.
Qualifications and Skills
* Excellent communication, formulation and therapeutic skills.
* Sound working knowledge of common mental health disorders, trauma‑informed practice and relevant legislation, including the Mental Health Act and NICE guidelines.
* Availability for visits to individuals’ homes (access to transport for work purposes is essential).
Working Hours and Location
Full‑time 22.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am–5pm, based at Jocelyn Solly Resource Centre.
Professional Development
Induction with shadowing of established team members; clinical supervision, reflective practice and mandatory training; wider opportunities for professional development.
