We are recruiting on behalf of a busy and growing sheet metal company in Buntingford for a General Operative. This is a hands on role within a manufacturing and production environment, offering weekly pay and the opportunity to move from temporary to permanent. This position would suit someone with experience as a Production Operative, Factory Operative, Warehouse Operative, Assembly Operative, Machine Operative or Labourer. If you have worked in manufacturing, engineering, metalwork, construction or a similar fast paced environment, your skills could transfer well. What You’ll Do • Assist with the handling and processing of sheet metal products • Support machine operators and skilled engineers on the shop floor • Load and unload materials safely • Carry out basic assembly and preparation work • Use hand tools and basic power tools where required • Keep the work area clean and organised • Follow health and safety procedures at all times What We’re Looking For • Previous experience in a factory, warehouse or manufacturing setting preferred • Comfortable working with metal materials and machinery • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic • Good attention to detail • Physically fit and happy with manual handling • Team player with a positive attitude Who Might Suit This Role This role could be ideal for someone who has worked as a Warehouse Assistant, Picker Packer, Yard Operative, Assembly Technician, Production Assistant or Construction Labourer.
