To work as an expert practitioner who is responsible for the delivery of patient-focused care, which addresses the complex and changing health and wellbeing needs of critically ill patients and their families. Their expertise will ensure efficient collaboration with departments outside of the ICU including external authorities. The post holder will demonstrate excellent communication and leadership skills and take responsibility for the day-to-day line management of the team for which he/she is responsible.
The post holder, under the leadership of the Matron, has a continuing responsibility for the day-to-day operational management of the Intensive Care Unit. He/she will ensure the delivery of a high quality, evidence-based and cost-effective service for patients and their families. Combining clinical expertise with innovative, dynamic nursing leadership, the post holder will manage a designated team of ICU staff in their professional and practice development.
