About the Service
This is a specialist service that provides high-quality care and support to young adults with learning disabilities (LD), epilepsy, and behaviours that challenge. The service sits alongside a sister service, which supports older adults with similar needs and already has an experienced Registered Manager in post.
The service consists of four self-contained flats, each supporting individuals with complex care packages. This is a high-responsibility position requiring strong leadership and clinical oversight in a challenging yet rewarding environment.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced manager for this critical role. You will take on full operational responsibility for the service, leading a team to deliver person-centred care and ensuring safety, compliance, and outstanding support outcomes.
The successful candidate must hold a Level 5 qualification in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) and either hold or be willing to obtain CQC Registered Manager status. You will have a deep understanding of regulations, strong knowledge of compliance, and extensive experience in managing people and care packages. You’ll also need the confidence and skills to handle conflict or complex behaviours if they arise.
You will work collaboratively with the RM of the sister site and the wider management team to ensure consistency, quality, and innovation across both services.
Key Responsibilities
Service Delivery & Compliance
Lead the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care across the four House flats.
Ensure services meet all CQC, safeguarding, and statutory requirements.
Monitor support plans, health needs, and behaviour support strategies regularly.Leadership & Staff Management
Recruit, mentor, and manage your team, promoting a positive and professional workplace culture.
Conduct regular supervisions, team meetings, and performance reviews.
Ensure your team is trained, skilled, and confident in supporting complex needs.Conflict & Crisis Management
Effectively manage situations involving behaviours that challenge.
Provide guidance and decision-making support in high-pressure scenarios.Stakeholder Engagement
Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, social workers, and commissioners.
Represent the service confidently in multi-agency meetings and inspections.Quality Assurance & Financial Management
Manage budgets, rotas, occupancy, and resources effectively.
Use IT systems to track compliance, incidents, staff development, and outcomes.
Essential Requirements
A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
Willingness and eligibility to become CQC Registered Manager for the service
Significant experience managing services supporting individuals with LD, epilepsy, and behaviours that challenge
Proven experience managing complex care packages and staff teams
Strong understanding of health and social care regulations and compliance standards
Excellent skills in conflict resolution, risk management, and person-centred planning
