LOCATION - South Yorkshire
TERM - Permanent
SALARY - £32,000 to £40,000 per annum (plus benefits)
Premier Engineering is working with an established engineering company based in South Yorkshire who are looking to bring on a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their design team. The ideal candidate will have experience using Fusion 360.
The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
* A degree or qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (BEng, MEng, HND, HNC etc.)
* 2+ years of industry experience in a mechanical design role
* Proficiency in Fusion 360 is essential
* Good understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal fabrication, and assembly
* Strong technical drawing and 3D modelling skills
* Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
* Strong communication and organisational skills
The Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:
* Creating 3D models and detailed technical drawings using Fusion 360
* Developing new products and improving existing designs
* Collaborating with other departments including production, R&D, and procurement
* Producing BOMs and technical documentation for manufacture
* Participating in design reviews and contributing to project development
* Supporting prototyping, testing, and design validation activities
* Ensuring all work complies with relevant standards and customer specifications
