Overview
We have a brand-new opportunity for a Senior or Principal Electrical Engineer to join our team based in our Plymouth or Exeter offices. We have a well-established reputation for delivering outstanding design on built environment projects throughout the Southwest and further afield. Working alongside a range of specialist engineers and consultants, you will join a collaborative, knowledgeable, highly engaged team who love what they do and offer a supportive, flexible, and high-performing work culture. We have maintained an office in Plymouth since 1951, developing a strong regional reputation for award-winning projects.
Responsibilities
* Be responsible for the day-to-day technical delivery of the electrical design services for multi-disciplinary projects across several building sectors.
* Lead the development of initial strategic concepts for projects ensuring solutions are appropriate for the brief and regulatory standards.
* Interact regularly with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a communicative, collaborative and timely approach to delivery. This is a client-facing role, so you will be attending project meetings and disseminating/translating the brief within the project team.
* Work with the team leader to help monitor fee expenditure, resources and work delivered.
* Mentor and support our 'next-gen' professionals, including apprentices and graduates.
Qualifications
* Proven experience working as an Electrical Engineer or in a closely related role, with a track record delivering on a variety of complex projects.
* Experience of modern technical delivery processes, and use of relevant software/tools such as BIM, Revit, Electrical OM, Dialux and Relux.
* Demonstrable experience working with clients/contractors/architects in a design-oriented / consultant role.
* Self-awareness, an open mind, and a spirit of generosity.
* Experience in supporting others to develop knowledge, skills, and confidence.
