Overview
Join to apply for the Veterinary Surgeon - Small Animal role at IVC Evidensia Rhodes Vets. This position is based in Kingsthorpe, Northampton, with a satellite consulting branch in Far Cotton. You will work across two well-equipped, friendly environments with flexible working patterns to support your work–life balance.
Responsibilities
* Care for small animal patients through a balanced mix of consults and surgery.
* Perform routine surgeries (e.g., spays, castrates), soft tissue work, lump removals, and dentals.
* Contribute to long-form case workups during consults to build lasting client relationships.
* Collaborate with a team including RVNs, receptionists, and management to ensure smooth practice operations.
Team and Environment
Join a supportive, experienced team currently comprising five vets, including certificate holders in Radiography & Imaging and Small Animal Medicine, plus a dedicated RVN and strong support staff. The RVNs actively participate in patient care, assist in surgery, run clinics, and help the practice run smoothly.
Qualifications and Requirements
* Qualified Small Animal Vet with the ability to perform a broad range of routine and complex procedures.
* Current registration with the relevant veterinary medical body (RCVS). Driving licence and own car preferred for occasional site travel between Kingsthorpe and Far Cotton.

* Flexible working patterns; weekly hours up to 30 hours per week with a share in a Saturday morning rota (1:3, may change to 1:6); no OOH or on-call requirements.
