Occupational Therapist
Band 5. Must hold HCPC registration. A band 5 Occupational Therapist to specialize in delivering eating disorder services in a day unit setting.

Main duties of the job
Carry out occupational therapy assessment and intervention under the clinical supervision of a senior Occupational Therapist. The focus is working with adults experiencing occupational disruption related to a wide range of eating disorders.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Appropriate professional qualification in occupational therapy role (or pending)
* Registration with HCPC (or pending)
* Post graduate training in relevant specialist area
Experience
* Experience of working in a variety of practice areas whilst on student placements (or postgraduate)
* Experience of supporting people with mental health issues, learning disability or autism
* Experience of working in a multidisciplinary team
Knowledge
* Awareness of professional standards and their application to practice
* Understanding of the needs of service users with mental health conditions and/or learning disabilities
* Clinical risk assessment and management and its application in practice.
* Knowledge of the evidence base for the clinical practice area
Skills
* Record keeping and report writing
* Collaborating with service users and carers/families in accordance with principles of co‑production
* Good observational skills and ability to describe such observations verbally and in writing
* Able to work flexibly and cooperatively as part of a team
* Delegates tasks appropriately
* Applies latest research evidence and evaluative thinking in practice
* Ability to adapt treatment using own initiative
* Compassionate in meeting the needs of vulnerable people and their families and carers
* Ability to work on own in a variety of settings using initiative appropriately
* Ability to work under pressure
* Ability to prioritise own workload
* Completion of preceptorship programme and competency framework within 1 year of starting post (or pending)
* Knowledge and experience of the clinical area
