Job Summary
We are seeking an accomplished and technically strong Senior Façade Manager to lead the full lifecycle delivery of complex façade works on a major construction project in Glasgow. This senior role is central to ensuring high‑quality façade solutions that meet design intent, regulatory compliance, programme milestones, commercial targets, and best‑in‑class safety standards.
You will act as the subject matter expert for all façade elements, driving excellence across design coordination, procurement strategy, installation quality, and subcontractor performance.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the façade package from early design development through procurement, installation, commissioning, and handover.
Oversee design coordination, ensuring alignment between architects, engineers, façade consultants, and specialist subcontractors.
Review and approve façade drawings, calculations, testing data, and material submissions.
Provide senior‑level oversight of on‑site progress, ensuring strict adherence to quality benchmarks, H&S requirements, and programme deadlines.
Chair façade coordination meetings and deliver progress reports to the Project Director and wider leadership team.
Identify risks early and implement effective mitigation strategies across technical, commercial, and programme-related aspects.
Ensure compliance with Scottish and UK building regulations, fire performance standards, thermal/acoustic requirements, and sustainability objectives.
Manage subcontractor performance, including cost tracking, change control, and ensuring contractual obligations are met.
Drive value engineering initiatives and champion innovative façade solutions to improve quality, efficiency, and environmental performance.
Requirements
Essential Criteria
Extensive experience managing and delivering large, complex façade packages on major construction projects.
Deep technical understanding of curtain walling, cladding systems, rainscreen, structural glazing, insulation, and associated interfaces.
Proven track record overseeing façade subcontractors and leading design coordination processes.
Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, façade performance standards, and industry best practice.
Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem‑solving abilities.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and testing documentation with confidence.
Competent in Microsoft Office and project management platforms.
Desirable Criteria
Degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Experience using BIM and digital construction tools.
Knowledge of sustainable façade materials, low‑carbon design strategies, and modern methods of construction.
