Offer description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Cancer Services team at University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire as a Senior Admin Officer for our Cancer Referrals Team. The Senior Admin Officer is an essential part of the patients' cancer pathway, responsible for booking their first initial urgent suspected cancer appointment. Secondment will be considered for internal candidates; if you are successful after interview, you must obtain approval from your current line manager to accept the offer.


Responsibilities

* Assist with the implementation and maintain an efficient office management system/procedures to enable the Department to optimise standards of service.
* Deal with all telephone calls relating to the outpatient appointment system, ensuring all calls are dealt with in a polite, pleasant, and professional manner.
* Book all Two Week Wait appointments according to the Patient Access Policy, ensuring appointments are made using Direct and Partial booking systems and within waiting time targets.
* Maintain high quality standards by ensuring that data entered onto Trust systems is accurate, complete and up to date. Systems include iPM, E‑Referrals, CRRS and Openscape.
* Obtain confidential information from patients or their relatives and record this on the hospital's computerised system.


Qualifications

We are looking for an individual who is organised, has attention to detail, good inter‑personal and communication skills, and is enthusiastic and proactive in their approach to work.

This role is crucial in booking within 0‑7 days and managing all patients' referrals who are on suspected cancer pathways within the relevant disease site. The post‑holder must be able to work independently, follow the policies and procedures for the department, use their own initiative, and keep their line manager and senior colleagues informed. The post‑holder must possess excellent time‑management and planning skills.
