* Develop and deliver tailored intervention plans that address offending behaviour, promote desistance, and support personal development.
* Engage effectively with families and caregivers to strengthen support networks and improve outcomes for children and young people.
* Work collaboratively across the Youth Justice Service, wider Children’s Services, and partner agencies within Birmingham to ensure coordinated and holistic support.
* Facilitate access to appropriate services, including education, training, employment, mental health support, and substance misuse services.
* Support children and young people to recover from trauma and adverse experiences, using a trauma-informed and child-first approach.
* Promote safeguarding and welfare, ensuring all children and young people are protected from harm and exploitation.
* Contribute to multi-agency meetings, including court proceedings, child protection conferences, and planning reviews.
* Prepare high-quality written reports, including court reports and assessments, within required timescales.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in line with organisational and legal standards.
* Build strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enhance service delivery.

Requirements

* Experience of working with children and young people, particularly those at risk of offending or involved in the criminal justice system.
* Strong understanding of youth justice principles, safeguarding, and child development.
* Ability to assess risk and need, and to plan and deliver effective interventions.
* Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and its application in youth justice.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage hard-to-reach young people and families.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-agency environment.
* Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a caseload effectively.
* Competence in report writing and record-keeping.
