Technical Architect | 5 Month Contract | (Inside IR35) | Hybrid, Edi| Starting ASAP Day Rate: DOE About the Role: Harvey Nash's Pub Sec client is aiming to adopt a Cloud First approach, moving its current technology stack into modern AWS services. To support this transition, they need an experienced Technical Architect with a strong background in upgrading and migrating Red Hat infrastructures. This specialist will work closely with the in‑house development team to guide and support the migration of existing applications to AWS as part of a wider redevelopment effort. The role requires deep expertise across all the technical areas involved in this transformation. Essential Skills & Experience: Experience of engineering systems with a variety of technologies and patterns; designing systems, choosing appropriate technology, and embedding security controls. Ability to collaborate effectively on initiatives to improve overall team performance, working as part of a small and agile team to meet service needs. Experience of taking ownership of the end-to-end process of delivering a feature within agreed project parameters whilst also identifying and validating functional and non-functional requirements. Experience in application refactoring for the cloud and using cloud migration tools and strategies. Duties will include: Assisting infrastructure engineers and developers (front and back end) to ensure seamless transition to Cloud and to advise on the correct path for emerging technologies. Lead the communication of complicated, complex or risky architecture topics with technical and non-technical stakeholders by documenting system design decisions. Candidate should be highly proficient in the following technologies: AWS Cloud, Red Hat Enterprise Linux OS, OpenShift, JBoss Enterprise Application Platform, JBoss FUSE, Red Hat Single-Sign-On and Cloud Repositories. Programming Languages: Java, JavaScript, Angular JS, Vue JS. Desirable Qualifications Knowledge of PostgreSQL (EnterpriseDB), Jenkins Automation Server and Nexus Repository. Experience in architecting Cloud native serverless technologies. This role has been deemed Inside IR35 by the client.
