St Anne’s School and Sixth Form College on Boothferry Road in Hessle are looking for an outstanding person to join our exceptional team as an Apprentice Nursery Nurse working under the direction of the class teacher to provide early years education within the specifications of the Early Years Framework.
Teamwork is key at St Anne’s. As a school for students with complex medical needs and Severe Learning Difficulties, the Apprentice Nursery Nurse will play a key role in providing a safe and stimulating learning environment.
Whilst mechanical aids are used where practicably possible, there is an element of manual handling involved in the role as is the requirement to assist with personal care, for example: feeding, changing and toileting.
A warm, caring and patient personality is essential to work at St Anne’s and you must be able to:
1. Show superb communication skills with children, young people, their carers and other agencies
2. Be proactive and show initiative
3. Be a trustworthy role model in and around our school community
4. Respect and maintain confidentiality whilst adhering to safeguarding principles at all times
5. Demonstrate you really care about children, particularly those who find learning and managing their behaviour difficult.
6. Demonstrate that you have the necessary skills and a willingness to complete the training for a Special Needs Education setting.
The role requires you to complete the Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship and is fixed term for 24 months or the duration of the apprenticeship if successfully achieved earlier.
