Role: Kerb Layer Location: Birmingham Salary: £18.49 per hour PAYE Hours: Monday - Friday - 7.30 - 5.30 Contract: Contract Of Employment Experience: 2 years Qualifications: Blue CSCS and experience Please apply via link included or directly at (url removed) or (phone number removed) Skilled Kerb Layer with suitable Kerbing / paving experience Your role as a Kerb Layer will be based in Birmingham and will consist of: - Site preparation - clearing, levelling, and marking out areas where kerbs will be installed. - Reading and interpreting site plans/drawings - ensuring kerbs are set out in the correct locations and alignments. - Groundworks - excavating trenches and preparing sub-bases for kerb foundations. - Mixing and laying concrete/mortar - creating stable bedding for kerbs. - Kerb installation - positioning, aligning, and levelling kerb units using lifting equipment or manually. - Cutting kerbs - using saws or splitters to shape kerbs for corners, junctions, and tight spaces. - Checking levels and falls - ensuring correct drainage and gradients are maintained. - Backfilling and compacting - securing kerbs in place with haunching and surrounding materials. - Finishing works - tidying edges, cleaning joints, and ensuring neat presentation. Based in Birmingham remuneration for this role is £18.49 per hour PAYE, you will accrue holiday entitlement and be eligible to join the VGC pension scheme once certain criteria have been met.
